Press Release Body: Trowbridge based frozen food manufacturer apetito picked up two prestigious National Business Awards at a lavish awards ceremony for the Wales and West Country region at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London on the 22nd of July. The two awards won by the firm were \'The Corporate Social Responsibility Award\' and \"The Business Innovation of the Year Award\'.

Described by Prime Minister Gordon Brown as \"The business Oscars,\" the \'Corporate Social Responsibility Award\' was presented to apetito in recognition of the firm\'s commitment to a three pillar approach to sustainability, looking at the environmental, economic and social implications of its actions and aims to achieve the best outcome for all three elements.

apetito has made some real steps forward in terms of its environmental efforts recently, key examples include increasing recycling by 20% last year and reducing the amount of CO2 generated by its transport fleet by over 900 tonnes per year through investment in new state of the art vehicles.

The award also reflects the social commitment the firm offers to its staff, donating £34,000 in the last two years to nominated local projects, charities and organisations. As well as monetary donations apetito also supports the Bristol based charity FareShare through the donation of meals which the charity then distributes to the needy and homeless alleviating food poverty and apetito\'s stance on the war against waste.

\'The Business Innovation of The Year Award\' recognises the development of the \'apetito Chefmobil\', the mobile meals delivery van used throughout apetito\'s community meals services around the U.K. The Chefmobil ensures customers receive piping hot meals every time via the use of its three onboard ovens and integrated computer technology.

The Chefmobil has completely changed the way that the elderly or infirm receive their meals. It may be that apetito provides only hot meal they eat all day, and so it is vital that the meal not only looks and tastes great but also has the nutritional content required.

The New Generation Chefmobil takes the idea of onboard reheating of frozen meals a step forward - with three separate on board ovens, start up times are staggered so that the time between reheating and delivery of each meal is kept to an absolute minimum. Even for the last person on the delivery round they are guaranteed a meal that is hotter, fresher, more attractive and more nutritious than ever before.

After seeing off stiff competition from companies such as The Bank of Ireland, and being benchmarked against the UK\'s finest, such as Legal and General, Zurich, , General Mills, confused.com and moneysupermarket.com, apetito are automatically through to the finals of the national competition which takes place in November.

apetito\'s chief executive Paul Freeston commented \"We are tremendously proud of winning these two awards as they are a testament to all the hard work and commitment to outstanding customer service from everyone at team apetito.\"
